Bharat Biotech is an Indian biotechnology company that develops and manufactures vaccines and biotherapeutics, most notably Covaxin, India's first indigenously developed COVID-19 vaccine. It was founded in Hyderabad's Genome Valley in 1996 by Dr. Krishna Ella, who remains Chairman and Managing Director alongside co-founder Suchitra Ella, and the company remains privately held by the Ella family. As of FY22 the company reported revenue of about Rs. 8,148 crore.
