Bajaj Energy Limited, together with its subsidiary Lalitpur Power Generation Company Limited (LPGCL), is one of Uttar Pradesh's largest private thermal power generators, with a combined installed capacity of 2,430 MW — 450 MW from five Bajaj Energy units and 1,980 MW from LPGCL's Lalitpur plant in Bundelkhand. It sells power primarily to Uttar Pradesh state distribution utilities under long-term power purchase agreements. The company filed a DRHP with SEBI in April 2019 for an IPO of up to Rs 5,450 crore, which received SEBI approval in September 2019 but was never completed.
